Plagiarism Index

Submissions must have a plagiarism index below 10%, excluding references and properly quoted material. Authors must guarantee that their work is free from copyright violations and unauthorized reproductions. Plagiarism shall be limited as per the norms prescribed by the University Grants Commission under Section 08 of the University Grants Commission (Promotion of Academic Integrity and Prevention of Plagiarism in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2018.

Any violation shall attract penalties as stipulated under Clause 12.2 of the said regulations.

Plagiarism and AI Use

Clarification on AI Usage

Specify whether AI-generated content is permitted only for research assistance (e.g., summarization, grammar checks) or if it can contribute to substantive writing. Require authors to declare the AI tool used and its purpose in a separate section of the manuscript

Consequences for AI Misuse

Mention that undisclosed AI-generated content will be treated as a violation of academic integrity. State possible penalties, such as rejection of the manuscript or a ban on future submissions

Self-Plagiarism Clause

Define what constitutes self-plagiarism (e.g., republishing one’s previous work without citation). State that overlapping content from the author’s prior publications should not exceed a specific percentage (e.g., 10%).

Ethics Review for AI-Assisted Research

Manuscripts that incorporate AI-generated content, machine learning models, or automated decision-making must comply with ethical research guidelines.

Authors must ensure that AI usage, does not misrepresent research findings, maintains data privacy and confidentiality and adheres to fairness, transparency, and accountability in AI-assisted work.

The editorial board reserves the right to conduct an ethics review for AI-assisted research and may seek additional clarifications before publication.
